Micheline Montgomery

“The Alchemist”, 24×36″, mixed media on linen

The ‘Alchemist’ is about transformation. In a multicultural society we came in contact with a variety of cultures and a possibility of a melting pot of human experience. This is what I attempted to express in ‘The Alchemist’. She represents an integration of what a diverse community can offer us: sharing, giving and caring.

Born in Quebec City, Canada, Micheline holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Aesthetic Inquiry form U. of T., a Masters in Applied Psychology and a Bachelor of Nursing Science. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and published in multiple publications.

I always created. I cannot separate art form life. I paint everywhere and on almost anything. I think of art when I wake up and dream of art when asleep. Buddhas, angels, nurses, moms and children are recurrent themes. How I embrace life is how I express I through art. What interests me is how we transform the simple ordinary moments as well as the complexities of life’s journey into peaceful, beautiful and meaningful works of art. This endless spiritual quest remains an ever exciting and magical path.
